Ben Evelyn Laboratories (Pty) Ltd was founded in 1999 as a small family business and was bought over by Safic in 2007 The reason behind inception of this business was that there existed a big gap for affordable Household Cleaning Products in the retail business.

At that time there were many household cleaning products, but they were either very good – but quite expensive or very cheap – but nothing that would appeal to a consumer because of poor quality, thus Ben Evelyn Products came into being.

The main and important reason behind all this was to try and bring about good quality, and affordable products that an average consumer would buy without grudging about the quality or the price.

With an already established name within the chemical industry, the Magicmaid range was developed for domestic use as there was an opportunity to explore this market.

Some of the flagship products include a powerful Braai Grill Cleaner, Pine Gel, All purpose Household cleaner. The Magicmaid range has been certified as Earth Friendly.
